We conduct our business with a long-term view. Our goal is to be a strategic business partner for our clients and to provide true value. High satisfaction levels are responsible for the large percentage of our business from repeat clients who ask us to design and build their future projects. Of course, when we state how well we have performed, it’s a claim. When our clients state it, it’s a fact. Read on to see exactly why clients have enjoyed working with Marsh/Bell Construction Co.

Comment: “We engaged Marsh/Bell to work with us on the overall design and perform construction management for our client’s first facility of its kind in the United States. The Marsh/Bell team far exceeded our Takenaka’s high standards and expectations. Even though serious unforeseen site conditions were encountered at the start, it was the extra efforts from Marsh/Bell and all their subcontractors that resulted in the project being completed ahead of schedule. The client’s concepts and overall scope of the project was constantly changing, however throughout the design and construction Marsh/Bell team performed exceptionally. They were a key asset to our client’s project and we look forward to working with them on future expansions and other projects in the Carolinas.”

Comment: “Toyota of Greenville has done business with Marsh/Bell Construction for over 12 years now. Marsh/Bell has always looked after our best interest by saving in cost while still providing a good quality job. We have used other contractors in the past and found that sub-contractors did not meet the quality of workmanship provided by Marsh/Bell. We will continue using Marsh/Bell for all of our construction needs. We are currently involved with them in the renovation of the former Rhodes Furniture location into the new Toyota of Greenville dealership. We were especially pleased with the 3-D rendering of the renovation they provided prior to construction. We found this very beneficial in deciding the plans for the building.”

Comment: “I want to personally thank you for taking care of the repairs on my building that Marsh/Bell built. George has been very persistent and has done a neat job doing the repairs. He has also dropped by several times to see if there were anymore problems. I’m a business owner myself and know how important it is for service after the sale. It’s the sign of a well established company that warrants what they build even after three years. I’m looking forward to a growing year and hope to expand my present building which I will definitely use Marsh/Bell for the project.”

Comment: “As you may recall, we organized our bank in 1999 and opened in a modular facility on Haywood Road in January 2000. During that time, every construction company that I knew called on us as we prepared to build our headquarter facility. During this process it became clear that Dwayne Bell, Mike Vargo and the rest of the Marsh/Bell team were the ones for the job. Dwayne and Mike provided tremendous expertise from the early stages of design and throughout the process of constructing our headquarter facility. As our bank continues to grow and we look at additional facilities, we fully expect the Marsh/Bell team to be our partners in the process. Due to our solid satisfaction over the past three years, I would highly recommend Marsh/Bell Construction Company without reservation.”

Comment: “I extend my appreciation for all the “extra effort” you provided in regard to the construction of the Upstate Plastic Surgery Center Building in Greenville. Even with all the inclement weather, I was amazed that you were still able to complete the project on schedule. It was apparent that the superintendent, Mike Ripley, took his responsibility seriously, but even beyond that, it was also obvious how much he personally cared about the project, my client and the quality of work performed under his authority. I look forward to having the opportunity to use your company again in the near future.”

Comment: “It was a great effort by everyone involved to assure that high quality building was delivered to the client’s satisfaction. I honestly believe that Dr. Keller and his staff are tickled to death with their new facility. Probably one of the best accomplishments of the entire process was the fact that it was completed on schedule considering the tight time frame. I was especially appreciative of the way Mike Ripley treated this building as if it was going to be his own. He demonstrated exceptional care in the details and didn’t seem to hesitate to replace an item if it wasn’t to his own satisfaction.”

Comment: “Marsh/Bell Construction Company completed a classroom addition at O. P. Earle Elementary School in October 2002. The scheduled completion date was December 2002. I have been superintendent of the school district for 16 years and have worked with many construction companies and construction superintendents. I can say that Marsh/Bell is the best company that I have every worked with. The quality of workmanship was great, the project was completed two months early and they were able to minimize change orders. Mr. Vande Kerkhove also made some suggestions to improve the building without adding cost and he went out of his way to ensure the safety of all the children during construction. I can highly recommend Marsh/Bell Construction and will be happy to speak with anyone about this fine company.”

Comment: “Mr. Vande Kerkhove made all workers on the project keenly aware that children were present during their workday and ensured that our students’ safety was of the utmost importance. Not only was our expansion project managed well, but also many times, Mr. Vande Kerkhove went above and beyond the call of duty. On one occasion, we had an unwanted intruder on the high school campus, which is adjacent to our school. All schools had to lock-down. Mr. Vande Kerkhove reassuringly let me know that he and his men would not allow anyone on campus without permission. He has made valuable suggestions about fire codes and safety issues regarding building evacuation. He cordoned off playground equipment when we found that it had been vandalized, made certain that supply deliveries were made during low traffic times, and he even assisted teachers with the placement of new furniture in the new wings. When minor changes needed to be made such as placement of bulletin boards or coat racks, he willingly agreed to those changes. Each and every time we asked Mr. Vande Kerkhove for information or assistance his response was “I’ll take care of it. Don’t you worry.” He is personable and well liked by our staff and students.”

Comment: “On behalf of the congregation, officers and staff of The First Presbyterian Church of Greer, South Carolina, we write to express our gratitude to Marsh/Bell for the fine work your firm did for us on Phase 1 of our Master Plan. From the relocation of our church offices, to the refurbishment of our sanctuary, to the building and completion of our new fellowship hall, kitchen, education, and storage space, the scope of your work was professional in every way. Our first Sunday in our refurbished sanctuary was a wonderful worship experience. I would like to pass along to you, some of the comments from our members:

“Absolutely beautiful”

“Loved the way the trim around the windows and the carpet color brought out the beauty of the stained glass”

“Liked the combination of the hardwood floors and the carpet”

“Thought the semi-circular step around the front of the chancel area was a great idea”

“Acoustics greatly improved with the hardwood floors”

“Historical nature and charm of the sanctuary has been preserved, even though the new has been added”

Thank you for your work on the project. If other churches are looking to engage you for services, we would welcome the opportunity to talk with them and let them know of our highest regards for your firm and the deep satisfaction we feel having worked with you.”

Comment: “As the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the First Presbyterian Greer Building Committee, we would like to express how exceptional this project went. With the team of Marsh/bell as Builder and Design Strategies as the Architect, we think we not only met but also exceeded the expectations of our congregation. This was an unusual project for several reasons: the age of the church, the limited land space for both design and building and the staging involved with removal of old facilities and relocation to new ones. This was performed through positive coordination and communications by all of those involved. This is not to say that there weren’t any difficult situations that had to be attended to. But, when they arose they were addressed and the team never missed a beat. This project was performed through the design build method. The agreement was that at the end of the project the church would participate in the savings if there were any. We not only finished with extra items not originally budgeted for, but we also received money back. We think this also exceeded everyone’s expectations. We would be happy to talk further with anyone whom might be interested in more detail about the team and this concept.”

Comment: “I want to take the opportunity to thank Shane McCall for his excellent work on the Phase V expansion and renovation at Allen Bennett Hospital in Greer. Shane’s work has been responsive and of the highest quality. His judgment on issues has always been fair and considerate of the Greenville Hospital System’s needs. The experience that Shane and the rest of the team brought from previous projects was vital as we solved the complex coordination issues that are a part of work within any operating healthcare facility. Possibly more importantly, Shane has shown a personal commitment to the project on numerous occasions – even putting down his planner and driving screws late at night to meet critical dates.”

Comment: “As the building chairman, I would like to express our thanks for the job your company did in the demolition of our existing tennis center and construction of the new one. I specifically would like to thank David Jones and Jimmy Lee for the professional manner in which they managed and supervised the project. Their organization, communication, attention to detail, and caring attitude made this project very enjoyable. We also appreciate your creative pre-construction assistance in evaluating our plans and helping us determine several ways to build the project in a more cost effective manner. Your employees and subcontractors did a great job of being conscious of the fact that we needed to continue our normal operations as much as possible, and allowed us to do that. The completion date was critical as well, with an important tennis tournament slated near the completion date. David and Jimmy met our schedule even though rock was discovered and numerous rain days were encountered. We couldn’t be more pleased with the high quality you have built for the Greenville Country Club, and I would not hesitate to recommend Marsh/Bell Construction to others. We look forward to working with you again in the future.”

Comment: “As the Chairman of Mauldin United Methodist Church Refurbishing Committee, I would like to tell you and your staff how highly impressed we have been by the professional manner in which your company performed in completing the project. I personally visited the site almost every day work was being done. As you know, we continued having our Sunday worship services in the sanctuary through the entire period of renovation. This was only accomplished thanks to the perseverance, patience and desire to please regardless of the time required, by both David Jones and the project superintendent, Mr. Dan McKnight.

Their knowledge and experience were evident at all times. I believe the smartest decision we made as a committee was selecting Marsh/Bell Construction Company as the contractor for this project.”

Comment: “Marsh/Bell has completed three buildings for me within the last three years and I was satisfied with the construction and continue to be a satisfied owner. Marsh/Bell provided design assistance for affordable buildings to meet my specific needs. All three projects were completed in a timely manner. I also found the jobsite superintendent personnel to be very competent and the coordination for specific tenant requirements and schedules went well in each case. As a developer, meeting tenant schedules was important in beginning the leases on a good relationship. I am available for reference if you have prospective customers wishing to get “first hand” knowledge of how your company has performed for me.”

When we first approached this building project, our goal was not to simply move into a larger renovated project, but to construct a facility that was aesthetically and structurally conducive to our worship and ministerial needs. The completed structure far exceeds our initial expectations. The contribution of your talents and workmanship is greatly appreciated. Thank you for the tangible contribution that you have made toward the furtherance of the Kingdom of God.”

Comment: “We have had our first service in our new church building that Marsh/Bell built for us. Our people are delighted with the building and have made many favorable comments about you and your company. From our very first meeting you demonstrated a personal interest in us and our plans. Alan, the building superintendent, did a great job in managing the entire process of building. He really helped us a lot. You and your company have helped us to stay within our budget, yet you maintained quality in the building. You have demonstrated a caring attitude, a helpful spirit, and integrity in the entire process of building our church. Thank you from our entire congregation.”

Comment: “Brent, I just wanted to drop you a note to tell you how thankful we are that we have chosen Marsh/Bell to be our Design-BUILD contractor. From the first day we met with you and Mr. Bell it has been so hugely encouraging. We felt Marsh/Bell understood our vision and wanted to do whatever possible to help us accomplish that. Since Reggie has come on board and lead us through the process of working with the architect, we could not have been pleased more. We look forward to the day we break ground and see the actual building begin to take shape. One of the best things about it all is, we know Marsh/Bell will be there helping it all become a reality. Thanks again for your patience, direction and kindness!”
